What will your organic farmers be harvesting for your table in the week ahead?
We’ve got plenty of fresh organic broccoli heading to the Wholefood Harvest packing sheds again this week folks.
When it comes to great-tasting nutrition, organic broccoli is an all-star food with many health benefits. While low in calories, broccoli is rich in essential vitamins and minerals, in addition to fiber.
As if that’s not enough, a cup of cooked organic broccoli offers as much vitamin C as an orange, and is a good source of beta-carotene. Broccoli contains vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6, iron, magnesium, potassium, and zinc too. It also provides fiber and is low in calories.
If you’re looking for a new way to enjoy broccoli, check out this Broccoli Soup with Feta and Pesto for a little inspiration.
Organic Cabbage is also in abundance. We are able to keep the quality and quantity of our set boxes high, thereby stretching your dollar as far as possible, by choosing only produce that is plentiful and inexpensive. We came across a very interesting recipe this week for Roast Cabbage with Seeded Mustard Dressing, which is a must try!
Here is a list of the other fresh items bound for the organic set boxes this week, keeping in mind last minute supply challenges may lead us to substitute an item for a similar alternative.
P.S. Consider saving more dollars with a subscription, now you can add your dairy, meat and other items to the weekly ongoing order.
